Our story
Waroma Eco Tours Perú was born in Huaraz with the goal of improving the adventure tourism industry, offering more options to Peruvian and international travelers looking for new, authentic trekking and mountaineering circuits through the Cordillera Blanca and the Huayhuash.
The agency was founded by Ángel Velásquez Castro, a high-mountain guide, during the pandemic (2020–2021) — a moment when many businesses came to a halt, but one he used to build something of his own: a small, honest agency deeply connected to his valley.
We keep opening new hiking and mountain routes, and build custom programs whenever what we already offer doesn't fit your time or your needs.

We're not the biggest agency in Huaraz — we'd rather be the closest.

Local guides, cooks and muleteers from the Callejón de Huaylas — not a generic tourism script.
Small groups, we pack out everything we bring in, and we return part of every booking to the communities along the route.

Founder and high-mountain guide
Born in Huaraz, at the foot of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra, in the Áncash region. He got into adventure sports at a young age and completed his professional studies at the Center for High Mountain Studies (C.E.A.M) — Huaraz, an institution dedicated to the professional training of mountain guides.
With 8 years of experience as a high-mountain guide, Ángel knows the Cordillera Blanca, the Huayhuash and the region's adventure sports inside out — knowledge that now guides every route Waroma offers.
The team
Behind every route is a small, experienced team: certified high-mountain guides for technical mountaineering, trekking guides for the multi-day circuits, cooks and muleteers who know every campsite like home.
