Cordillera Blanca — Moderate
The climbing route
Several peaks of the valley can be attempted from the same base camp. Ishinca is a moderate-difficulty mountain, with a simple moraine and two route options — climbing up and down by different paths. Many climbers continue afterward to Tocllaraju, considered the most accessible "six-thousander" of the range. Average temperature of 13°C to 23°C by day and -5°C to -2°C at night at base camp. Tap a stage to see it on the profile.

Huaraz → Pashpa → Ishinca Base Camp
Private bus transfer to Pashpa (3,670m), where the walk through the Ishinca valley begins — with a Huascarán National Park entry checkpoint — and lunch along the way. The walk continues to Ishinca base camp, with a gear check on arrival. Overnight at 4,300m.

Base Camp → Ishinca Summit (5,530m) → Base Camp
Wake-up and breakfast around 3am, the walk begins at 3:30am toward the glacier (~2h), where technical gear is put on. About 3 hours to reach the summit, with views of the Ishinca valley and its lagoons. About 2h of descent to the moraine and then to base camp, arriving around 4:30pm. Overnight at 4,300m.

Base Camp → Pashpa → Huaraz
Breakfast at 8am and descent to Pashpa (~3.5h), with exit check-out at Huascarán National Park. Private transport back to Huaraz, with lunch along the way and arrival around 2:00pm.
Descent: the descent from the summit to base camp happens on day 2 itself, via a different route from the climb up (~2h) — day 3 descends from base camp to Pashpa (~3.5h) for the final transfer to Huaraz.
